 Elpidio Quirino: A Leader Who Served the People   Elpidio Quirino, the sixth President of the Philippines, was a leader who always wanted to help the country. He believed in making the Philippines strong and independent. He was born in a small town in Ilocos Sur and grew up knowing what it was like to work hard. This made him want to help all Filipinos. He went from being a teacher to becoming President because he was smart, worked hard, and cared about his country.   Quirino started working for the government in the House of Representatives. He was good at making laws and always stood up for what was fair. Later, he became a senator, a member of the President's team, and the Vice President under President Manuel Roxas. He learned a lot about how to run the country. When President Roxas died in 1948, Quirino became President.  National Children's Month 2025: Protecting Our Kids   Every year, we celebrate National Children's Month to remember how important it is to keep our children safe. This year's theme, "OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!"—which means "End Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM): Fight for the Safety and Rights of Children!"—tells us we need to stop online dangers that hurt our kids. While we enjoy seeing our children grow and learn, we must also face the fact that some people online want to harm them.   The government has a big job in keeping children safe and respecting their rights.
