Witnessing the Beauty of Festival in Vigan
Each year, the historic city of Vigan holds a party for the Feast of St. Paul’s Change of Heart, there’s always happiness, contests, and many exciting things to watch. Me and my friends went to Vigan on a bright day to see the street dance in the afternoon. Students from grade school up to high school were in the march, and they danced really great. We didn’t just watch, we shouted loudly for our school, ISNHS, as they did their act with bright outfits and easy, flowing steps. We didn’t get to see their Longganisa Festival battle, but we still felt happy when we found out they got the top prize.
The street dance was so cool to watch. The young dancers practiced a lot, and you could see it from how they moved in perfect time with each other. I took good pictures of every group as they walked past the water fountain that moves to music and the city building. Everyone were clapping their hands, singing along, and cheering for every team. The music was loud and happy, and you could feel the excitement in the air. When each group finished their part, the crowd would shout even louder to show they liked it. When it got dark, the plaza was full of people for a big show the well-known band Parokya ni Edgar played there. The stage had bright lights all over it and everyone sang and moved to their popular songs. Then on the 25th of January, 2026, there was another big march with lots of people walking side by side. The whole city felt friendly and joyful.
Overall, our trip to Vigan for the feast was amazing. We had so much fun watching the street dance, cheering for our school, and seeing all the happy people around us. Even though we missed some parts of the festival, we still got to see great shows and feel like part of the big celebration. Vigan is such a nice place, and being there for the feast made us really happy.
